Welcome to Niagara SPCA Animal Clinic

The Niagara SPCA Animal Clinic is a low-cost/high-volume spay and neuter clinic located in Welland, Ontario. The clinic opened in 2014 to provide affordable, high-quality sterilization surgery to combat pet overpopulation and provide an opportunity for those to whom cost would be a barrier in obtaining these services. Surgery is performed by our licensed and skilled veterinarians with a high level of care from our entire team. Our services are available to all members of the public regardless of geographic location and income. We offer vaccinations, microchipping, and flea treatment at the time of surgery. At present, we do not offer vaccination-only appointments or wellness exams. Appointments must be pre-booked and pre-paid. Please review the eligibility criteria to ensure your pet meets the requirements prior to submitting an appointment request. To submit an appointment request form, please click the red “Appointment Request Form” button at the top of the page.

Eligibility Requirements

Your pet must be at least 4 months of age and less than 7 years of age at the time of surgery.

Your pet must be healthy (including, but not limited to: no history of seizures, grade 3+ heart murmur, pyometra, medications, etc.).

Your pet must not be significantly under or over weight. If your pet does not fall into the “ideal” body condition category, your pet’s surgery may be cancelled.

Your female dog must not be in heat within 3 months prior to surgery.

Pregnant cats and dogs can be spayed, but the pregnancy will be terminated at the time of surgery and a fee will apply. This MUST be discussed with a clinic team member.

Although not mandatory for surgery, we recommend that all pets be up to date with vaccinations.Your pet will receive a pre-operative exam the day of surgery. The veterinarian has the right to refuse service to any animal if deemed a health risk.

If your dog requires a muzzle due to nervous or aggressive behavior, we can proceed with surgery. Please be sure to indicate this on your appointment request form so that we can provide you with additional instructions.
